A group of friends was having a pool party when they noticed two dogs wandering at the edge of the yard outside the fence. Many partygoers walked up to investigate the canines because they appeared to be interested in entering. Because one of the dogs had a tag, they decided to let them stay in the yard while they looked for their owners.
While one of the dogs was hesitant to enter the yard, the other was determined to join in on the fun right away.
Jennifer Motes, one of the visitors, told The Dodo that “at that time, some of us were on the deck, some in the pool, and others out in the yard.” The golden was immediately eager to party and began to speed around, wag its tail, approach people, and get pets. The shepherd was far more reserved and stayed in the yard at first, but eventually joined us on the deck when she saw her partner up there.
The golden retriever, later identified as Stoker, was clearly having a great time. He jumped right in, racing about playing fetch, begging for food, stealing shoes, and eventually joining everyone in the water.
According to Motes, Stoker jumped immediately onto the innertube raft after numerous poolgoers pulled it near to the edge. He had fun floating around the pool, getting caressed and loved, and swimming. The shepherd never had the confidence to enter the water; instead, she stood back and watched us, allowing some of us to pat her and pursuing Stoker.
