According to Tray Rescue of St. Louis, this summer has been particularly difficult for stray animals. One of the “lost souls” they recently rescued is Kanga. His skin conveys a sad tale of abuse and suffering.
His physique is so broken down that even the skilled rescuers have been shackled by it.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis comments on Facebook, “We’ve seen numerous cases of mange over the previous 25 years, but this is one of the most severe.”
They posted many images of Kanga and stated, “It hurts our heart” to see how miserable he is.
The dog’s body is hairless and covered with folds of skin that give the impression that he has zebra stripes. He also has severe sores and flaking skin.
His eyes also communicate to his rescuers that his heart is as devastated as theirs. “We can see his sad heart in his eyes,” they write. He has lost the battle entirely. We really regret that this occurred to you.
Some of Kanga’s admirers believe he is a German Shepherd because of his towering, huge ears, but the truth won’t be fully known until after he recovers.
The goal of Stray Rescue of St. Louis is to aid in his recovery, but they are aware that he still has a long way to go. But they make a promise: “We’ll give him antibacterial baths, nourishing meals, and so much more. LOVE.”
