It was a hot and dry summer day when the young man, Jack, heard about the wildfire that had been raging through the nearby forest. He knew that he had to do something to help the animals that were affected by the fire, so he grabbed a jug of water and headed out into the woods.
As he walked, Jack could see the thick smoke billowing up into the sky and he could feel the heat of the flames even from a distance. He knew that time was of the essence, so he quickened his pace, determined to do what he could to help.
After a while, Jack came across a bear that had run out of the forest, its fur singed and its paws covered in ashes. The bear looked exhausted and thirsty, and Jack knew that he had to act fast.
Without hesitation, he approached the bear and offered it a drink of water from his jug. The bear gratefully accepted the offer, lapping up the cool liquid with its tongue.
Feeling grateful for the young man’s help, the bear gave Jack a nod before loping off into the woods, back towards the safety of the nearby mountains.
As he watched the bear disappear into the trees, Jack knew that he had made a difference, however small it may have been. He returned home with a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing that he had done something truly meaningful that day.
