A deaf girl trains her hearing-impaired dog Walter to speak to her. The 10-year-old girl’s mother, Chrissy, claims that the moment she laid eyes on Walter, she knew he was the one for them. She also claims that the dog waits for Julia to finish her chores before playing with her.
A video of this great bond was posted on Facebook by the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA, which is situated in Pasadena, California, in the United States.
Chrissy said in the video that:
“At first, while I was carrying Julia in my arms, she would smell my neck since she couldn’t actually hear my voice. And Walter behaved nearly precisely the same way when I first held him.
Because of their strong bond, Julia has chosen to teach Walter the signs for “water,” “food,” and “sit down,” which he already understands.
A month after Walter was adopted, Chrissy wrote to the organization to update them on the situation.
We always intended for Walter to be a part of our family.
He and Julia have a close relationship. As a good sister, Julia likes passing along her knowledge of sign language to him. I never treated her differently due of her hearing impairment, and it’s amazing how she treats Walter the same way.
In the well-known video, the girl is heard saying, “I adore Walter, he’s my best buddy.”
