The mother of Mojito and his siblings was a dog who had gotten impregnated after eloping. When the mother returned and her humans learned about her new kids, they decided they didn’t want anything to do with them. As a result, they sent the group of puppies over to Love Leo Rescue in Los Angeles right away.
The crew referred to the infants as “chugs” and gave them the names Mojito, Mimosa, Daiquiri, and Pia Colada since they were half pug and half chihuahua. Sasha Rose, owner of Love Leo Rescue, told The Dodo, “We offered to neuter the mom for free, but regrettably they denied our offer. We operate a free spay and neuter clinic for those with modest incomes, and we cannot stress enough how crucial it is to spay and neuter your dogs.
Dogs with darker coats typically receive fewer adoptions than dogs with lighter coats because they don’t photograph as well, according to the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. For Mojito and his two sisters, sadly, such was the situation. But Mojito’s issues didn’t stop there.
The sole male in the litter and the runt is Mojito, Rose explained. He has shorter legs and a more pug-like face than his brothers, who are significantly larger. However, he is the most loving member of the group and enjoys nothing more than cuddling on your lap.
Before an unexpected visitor showed up, the Chugs had been working with the rescue group for a month. When Hilary Duff, an actress, arrived, she offered to adopt Mojito, who is now Momo. Even though she already had a few dogs, she decided to add more to her household.
Another victory for all black dogs, according to Love Leo Rescue’s Facebook post. “Mojito has discovered his everlasting home, and is content in Hilary Duff’s embrace. From being “unwanted,” this tiny chug now has the happiest life ever. I appreciate Hilary Duff’s support of the “adopt don’t shop” movement and your acceptance of Mojito into your family.
